Each year, LAND commissions new public artworks by emerging and established contemporary artists. These commissions serve as meaningful opportunities for artists to create work outside of the commercial considerations of a gallery and with greater flexibility not offered in traditional museums. For many artists, these are their dream projects. Artists place their artworks directly in neighborhoods and sites that have personal resonance, and these projects often have a profound impact on their careers and future bodies of work.

The LAND Artist Fund directly supports the commissioning of new work. Your fully tax-deductible donation of $10,000 and above provides a base of support to realize ambitious and innovative artworks across Los Angeles that are accessible to the public free of cost.
